About Us

Watertown Middle School serves a diverse community of five hundred and sixty students in grades 6-8 north west of Boston Massachusetts. Founded in 1922 and rooted in the historic traditions of the Commonwealth, Watertown Middle School provides an education filled with excellence, equity and a community that fosters caring and collaborative relationships. Our dedicated and professional faculty and staff provide an intimate ratio of ten students to every teacher. As a school with twenty plus languages spoken under our roof, we are proud of our diverse population and have a strong tradition of community service.

Announcements

Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year! All of us at Watertown Middle School are very excited to meet our 6th graders and new students, and welcome back returning 7th and 8th graders! The first day of school is Tuesday, September 4th. School starts at 8:20 a.m. and students must be seated in their homerooms by 8:30 a.m. The building will be open to students at 7:45 a.m. during which time they are welcome to go to the cafeteria for breakfast starting at 8:10 a.m. Students are dismissed at 3:00 p.m. each day.

On the first day of school, sixth grade students will gather in the cafeteria and meet their homeroom teachers. Parents and guardians are welcome to arrive with their children in the cafeteria and stay for the sixth grade opening assembly in the auditorium. After the assembly, sixth graders will go back to their homerooms and follow an abbreviated schedule for the rest of the day. Seventh and eighth grade students will go directly to their new homerooms. Teachers will be out in the hallways to welcome students and give directions. Seventh and eighth grade students who are new to Watertown Middle School should meet their guidance counselors in the main office.

Please remember to bring with you school supplies, a water bottle if possible, and an enthusiastic attitude about the start of a new school year! The possibilities are endless for learning, collaboration, and fun! See you on the 4th!
